A server message announces "Golden Goblin has spawned in stage N". It drops one of the Loot to Forge ores when killed; players have seen Legendary Loot to Forge ores, Toxic and Solar Flare from it.
Late-game Loot to Forge ores
One enhancement guide says Secret ores start on stage 17 and stage 23 drops only Ancient Loot to Forge ores. The Apex appears from stage 24, confirmed by two sources.
Losing Loot to Forge ores on death
Dying in the dungeon loses the Loot to Forge ores you have not carried out. The official "Recover Lost Ores" product (3 Robux) brings them back.
Max Ore Count decides how many Loot to Forge ores you carry per trip. It starts at 4 and reaches 24 at the +12 upgrade, so it matters more than any single one of your Loot to Forge ores early on.
